For every Airbnb we’ve visited, our memory of the whole experience ultimately gets distilled down into a single word. As we scroll through our list of previous trips, we’ve got knee-jerk associations for every place: Windmill! Beale Street! Babydoll sheep! (This word-association sticks for negative trips too… Mouse. Mold. Cigarette smoke. Obviously those aren’t the words we’re striving for here!)

There’s an enormous amount of marketing power that’s unlocked when you can easily identify your Airbnb’s most memorable, unique quality. This is the thing that your guests would instinctively blurt out when asked to describe your place. It’s the thing you want to be known for. That element should be your marketing lead, your listing’s memorable hook that helps you stand out in a crowded space.
